New publication offers humor, parody, and deeply unreliable counsel to the happily, unhappily, and confusedly married alike

RED BLUFF, CA - The Matrimonial Gazette, a satirical online publication dedicated to the absurdist theater of modern marriage, announced its launch with a growing archive of cases adjudicated by a panel of fictional experts — including a Certified Matrimonial Chronicler, a Certified Bertramia Negotiator, and at least one columnist who turned out to be a subscriber to the very journal he was asked to review.

Published in the tradition of the great nineteenth-century domestic press — complete with masthead, ticker tape, and a legal disclaimer noting the panel are not actual lawyers — the Gazette covers the full spectrum of contemporary marital life. Cases on record include a husband who replaced all verbal communication with notarized depositions, a wife who discovered her husband's quarterly journal about their marriage from a stranger in a cereal aisle, and a man who trained his parrot to serve as domestic legal counsel. The parrot's case files are tabbed and color-coded. The recycling motion has been denied.

The Gazette publishes almost daily at matrimonialgazette.com and accepts reader submissions. Letters describing genuine, fictional, or frictional marital situations may receive a full expert reply — complete with diagnosis, verdict, and, where warranted, a recommendation.

A Publication for the Age

The Gazette addresses cases conventional advice columns have declined to touch: a husband who declared the left side of the bed sovereign territory and began issuing visas; a nine-year-old administering his parents' marriage through strategic compliment deployment and a curated jazz playlist; and a fantasy football depth chart listing two columns — Earth and Other. That case received over 103,000 reader responses.

Readers have described the Gazette as "the most human letters ever written," "a reason to lie down in a field," and "somehow is exactly what I needed."

About The Matrimonial Gazette

The Matrimonial Gazette is a satirical publication covering marriage with the gravity it deserves and the irreverence it has earned. The full archive, new cases, and submission guidelines are available at matrimonialgazette.com. All verdicts are final. All experts are fictional. All binders are real. The Pillow Situation remains tabled pending a follow-up summit.

For Better or For Worse, Preferably Better. — matrimonialgazette.com

All persons, cases, sovereign nations, and parrots depicted are fictional. Any resemblance to actual marriages is entirely coincidental and probably funnier in person.
