EDR and ERIS have announced the resolution of their dispute and lawsuit involving EDR’s claims of copyright infringement and ERIS’s claims of antitrust violations pending before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (Case 1:19-cv-02049-JHR-OTW). Under their agreement, ERIS is now licensed to supply EDR’s copyrighted maps to the entire real property analysis marketplace.
In their court filing of May 23, 2025, the parties stipulated to dismiss all claims and counterclaims against each other with prejudice, with each party bearing their own respective costs and attorneys’ fees.
ERIS now holds a valid license for all copyrighted Sanborn maps and has the right to publish, copy and distribute all copyrighted and non-copyrighted Sanborn maps from the Sanborn Library collection.
“We are pleased to have the lawsuit disputes behind us and are delighted to supply all of the fire insurance maps in the Sanborn Library collection without controversy,” stated Carol Le Noury, President, ERIS.
ERIS continues to be a leader in the real property analysis marketplace, offering the highest quality environmental data products and software solutions, delivering best in class value and service.
