PingPod Inc. expands its autonomous recreation model into golf, growing its portfolio of neighborhood sports concepts
PingPod Inc. is expanding its autonomous recreation model into golf with the launch of a new brand, Block Golf, a 24/7 neighborhood golf concept. Block Golf is now open in Williamsburg, with Kips Bay, Upper West Side and East Village locations coming later this year. A fifth location is also planned for Fort Lee, NJ, bringing Block Golf’s initial network to five locations across the New York metropolitan area. The launch marks PingPod Inc.’s entry into its third recreational sport.
Built for urban golfers, Block Golf is designed to make golf easier and more affordable to fit into everyday life. Its smaller store format and autonomous operating model allow Block Golf to open in neighborhoods where larger golf facilities often can’t, giving golfers more opportunities to play, practice, learn and compete close to home or work. Each location features Trackman golf simulators, instruction and a replay feature that allows golfers to review their swing and capture and share content.

Like PingPod, Block Golf is autonomous and open 24/7. Golfers can reserve private simulator bays by the hour through the Block Golf web app or Android/iOS mobile apps. Each reservation can accommodate up to four players with hourly rates starting at $35. Private lessons and group classes are also available.
The launch comes as the outdoor golf season begins to wind down across the Northeast and off-course golf continues to grow. According to the National Golf Foundation, 19 million Americans now play exclusively off-course.
PingPod introduced its autonomous model with ping pong in New York City in 2020 and later expanded into billiards with Sharks Pool Club. Today, PingPod Inc. operates 25 locations globally and has generated more than half a million bookings. Block Golf’s Upper West Side and Fort Lee locations will be operated by franchises, extending the company’s autonomous recreational model into new neighborhoods and markets.
