Insurance industry veteran Brody Merrill will become Chief Financial Officer at Mutual of Omaha effective Dec. 1, according to Chairman and CEO James Blackledge.

Merrill recently served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer for American National Group. With more than 24 years of strategic financial leadership across the insurance, technology and asset management industries, he has a strong track record in capital management, risk oversight and optimizing business performance, Blackledge said.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Merrill earned his bachelor’s degree from Weber State University and received an MBA from Santa Clara University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
