“I want to offer heartfelt congratulations to all of our student and alumni athletes who competed at the Paralympic Games, and particularly to the medalists who accomplished their dreams at the highest level,” said Tom Monahan, president and CEO at DeVry University.
“DeVry prides itself on uniquely serving students who are committed not only to near-term accomplishments, but the ability to thrive and grow over the longer term. We know our students need to juggle near-term responsibilities at work and in life, and these athletes are an incredible example and inspiration as they balance the pursuit of their athletic dreams and their academic goals. We look forward to watching where they go next,” added Monahan.
Prior to the Paralympic Games, DeVry student and alumni athletes brought home 8 medals during the Olympic Games in Tokyo: 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze, bringing DeVry student and alumni athletes’ overall medal count to 20: 7 Gold, 8 Silver and 5 Bronze from Tokyo 2020.
