Mr. Williams' military career and educational background have been foundational to his professional journey. His academic achievements include earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in federal acquisitions and contract management from Strayer University, completed in 2004. He furthered his education at Strayer University, earning a Master of Business Administration in federal acquisition and contract management in 2006. In 2010, he also earned a Master of Business Administration in auditing from Liberty University.
Prior to his current roles, Mr. Williams served as the director of the Office of Internal Audit for the US Army from 2007 to 2011, after he served as an operations representative from 2001 to 2007. Most notable in his professional background is his service to his country in the U.S. Army, which he joined in 1982. He retired as a Sergeant Major in 2011, after nearly 30 years of service.

Mr. Williams' dedication is highlighted through various recognitions. His professional achievements include his contributions to various professional publications, as well as being named Internal Auditor of the Year by the U.S. Army from 2009 to 2012. Among his various medals, he earned a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal in 2006; a Bronze Star Medal in 1991, several Army Commendation Medals; a National Defense Service Medal in 1991 and 2002; an Army Achievement Medal in 1994, 1996 and 2022; a Kuwait Liberation Medal; and a Southwest Asia Service Medal in 1991. He is particularly proud to have earned the Legion of Merit in his retirement, which is a rare award for individuals to receive.
Mr. Williams credits his success to the guidance and support of the mentors he has had over the years, especially those in the U.S. Army who provided him with a solid foundation for everything he has accomplished. The lessons he has learned from these mentors are pieces of advice he now shares with others, such as never quitting, doing the right thing and always taking care of those entrusted to serve under you. He also advises others to lead by example and to show their subordinates that they value them and care about their well-being.
Outside of the Military
Mr. Williams is actively involved in volunteering opportunities, his local government and his church. He is also a member of the zoning and planning board for his county, a position appointed by county commissioners.
Mr. Williams has been happily married for 30 years and has a daughter who is married to a U.S. Air Force sergeant. He has a young granddaughter who is the light of his life. Looking to the future, he plans to enjoy his retirement and spend quality time watching his granddaughter grow up.
