Marquis Who's Who Honors Carlous Caple, EdD, With Inclusion in Top Executive List

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / June 24, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Carlous Caple, EdD, with inclusion in the Top Executive List. Dr. Caple is a senior business analyst specializing in cybersecurity authorization to operate (ATO) and project management with the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service Institute.

About Dr. Caple

Dr. Caple's passion for technology education drove his decision to pursue a career in the field of cybersecurity. He was intrigued by how knowledge could be retained by combining psychology, education and technology. As an undergraduate, he majored in psychology at the urging of his high school teacher, believing it would be beneficial for his future career.

While Dr. Caple pursued his graduate studies, he worked as a kindergarten teacher and later transitioned to higher education, working as a university professor. It was during this time that he was asked to become an adjunct professor of psychology at Shaw University's CAPE Center.

"I was getting all my experience in teaching, managing people and being effective in delivering learning and instruction. My career focus has been in education and training. I was engaged with various educational technologies as applications, which was the focus of my master's degree. I was intrigued by the question: How can we use technology as a tool to enhance learning and engage learners?" Dr. Caple says.

Dr. Caple earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in educational technology, both from North Carolina Central University. He obtained a Doctor of Education in mathematics, science and technology education from North Carolina State University. He is currently pursuing the Executive Master of Business Administration degree in business analytics at Harvard Business School.

While working at Shaw University and later at the University of North Carolina System as a professor of curriculum and instruction, Dr. Caple developed a curriculum that enhanced learning. This curriculum was later implemented by the U.S. Department of the Army's Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).

"I began working with teachers in the field rather than students, engaging teachers on how to incorporate various technologies into the standard curriculum," Dr. Caple says.

In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Caple has been deemed a Renowned Expert on the cognitive strategies of spaced practice, spaced repetition and educational technology by Appency Inc., a software applications development company. He has also received recognition from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and Rotary International for Outstanding Work in Applying Technology to Global Learning-Ghana, West Africa, and accolades from Blackwell Consulting.

An Expert on Spaced Repetition

Dr. Caple is an expert on several cognitive strategies, particularly spaced practice and repetition, a learning technique in which information is reviewed at intervals that increase over time. This process helps the learner retain information by syncing review sessions with the brain's natural memory functions.

For two years, Dr. Caple taught at a media and journalism studies institution in Ghana, West Africa, and was the vice president of academic affairs at the African University College of Communications. He considers his efforts in developing a program for the university as one of his most notable achievements.

In his current position, Dr. Caple is responsible for the risk management framework for cybersecurity and safeguards applications against attacks.

"The current trend in cybersecurity involves a focus on threats and threat actors such as malicious attacks. It has gotten more in-depth now, dealing with cloud environments, massive data breaches, artificial intelligence (AI), credit card fraud and how we engage with other countries in terms of security and collaboration. Is our data secure? It's primarily the focus of cybersecurity as a whole," Dr. Caple explains.

A primary concern is the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Dr. Caple employs problem-solving case study methodologies in his classes because he believes that only by studying AI in great depth will students and consumers alike fully understand it.

Looking to the Future

Looking ahead, Dr. Caple hopes to be recognized as a public figure, dynamic speaker and thought leader. He envisions himself on the global stage where he can positively impact people in the U.S. and abroad. He would also like to lead universities as a global thought leader guiding the future of education, a role in which he sees himself making a substantial impact long-term. He calls it the modernization of the education paradigm.
