Chicago mixed-media artist Stephanie N. Blahut expands her coastal gallery presence through Coast Highway Art Collective while preparing for two juried Chicagoland art festivals this summer.

MENDOCINO, Calif. - June 1, 2026 - PRLog -- Waveflowers, the mixed media art brand founded by Chicago artist Stephanie N. Blahut, is announcing its membership with Coast Highway Art Collective (CHAC) in Point Arena, California, along with upcoming appearances at two juried Chicagoland art festivals this summer.

Located along California's Mendocino Coast, Coast Highway Art Collective is an artist-run gallery and creative community dedicated to showcasing regional and contemporary artists working across a range of mediums. Waveflowers pieces are now featured through the collective's gallery space.

"I'm thrilled to feature my work alongside the talented artists at CHAC—and to help expand awareness of the human impact on our waterways through art," said Blahut.

The announcement follows Waveflowers' recent California exhibition presence through Edgewater Gallery in Fort Bragg and reflects the brand's growing connection to coastal art communities inspired by environmental stewardship, coastal protection, and renewal.

Founded in 2025, Waveflowers creates dimensional, light-reactive mixed media art using reclaimed shoreline materials and found objects from beach cleanup efforts. Inspired by the Great Lakes and coastal environments, the work explores themes of reuse, resilience, and environmental appreciation.

"Coastlines hold memory—good and bad," said Blahut. "Whether along the Great Lakes or the Pacific Coast, there's something deeply grounding about collecting and reusing fragments shaped by time and the elements. Point Arena, which is very close to my heart and mind, immediately felt connected to that same emotional and environmental language."

In addition to the new gallery membership, Waveflowers will appear at the following juried summer festivals in Illinois:
  • Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival (Rogers Park, Chicago) from August 15–16, 2026
  • Evanston Art & Big Fork Festival (Evanston, Illinois) from August 22–23, 2026
These events will feature Blahut's evolving collection of resin-based sculptural and wall-mounted works, including illuminated and light-reactive pieces created from reclaimed and organic materials.
