Tara LeDay has joined Munsch Hardt as shareholder in its Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Insolvency practice. LeDay brings a nationwide bankruptcy practice representing creditors, landlords, corporate debtors in complex restructuring, insolvency and creditors’ rights matters.
“Tara has spent her career navigating complex bankruptcy matters from nearly every side of the table, which gives her an understanding of not only the legal issues at stake, but the business pressures driving each decision,” said Kevin M. Lippman, section head of Munsch Hardt’s bankruptcy practice. “Her addition reflects the intentional growth of our practice and the Firm, while expanding the depth of experience we can bring to clients in Austin and nationwide.”
LeDay has handled significant Chapter 11 proceedings involving major companies across the real estate, retail, financial services and energy sectors and has served as general and special litigation counsel to Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees. Her work has involved sophisticated issues surrounding lien priority, cash collateral and adequate protection, executory contracts and leases, asset sales, preference actions and other contested matters. Having practiced before bankruptcy courts across the country, she is well-versed in navigating local bankruptcy procedures alongside the federal Bankruptcy Code.
“I decided to join Munsch Hardt because it combines the strength of a regional firm with the resources to support the national practice I’ve built,” LeDay said. “It’s also known for its collaborative platform that I believe will allow me to continue growing my practice while delivering strong service to clients across the country.”
Beyond her client work, LeDay is an active speaker and leader in the bankruptcy and restructuring community. In 2026, she was selected as one of 12 members of Law360’s Bankruptcy Editorial Advisory Board, which provides feedback on the publication’s coverage and expert insight on how best to shape future coverage. She also serves as network vice chair of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation.
LeDay was recognized by Austin Monthly as a 2026 Top Austin Attorney in Bankruptcy and Workout. She earned her law degree from Baylor Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University.
LeDay’s addition follows Munsch Hardt’s expansion of its Austin office, increasing its footprint to accommodate additional attorneys and continued client demand. The investment is part of the firm’s broader growth across Texas, which also included the opening of a Fort Worth office earlier this year.
