New CEO, CRO, and COO named as company expands mission and vision to secure the growing attack surface created by AI
Wallarm, a leader in securing the AI-driven economy, today announced a new executive team to lead its next stage of growth, as it extends its focus beyond API security to securing AI transformation. AI is fundamentally changing how enterprises operate, compete, and serve their customers, creating an entirely new category of security risk. The leadership appointments reflect Wallarm’s commitment to helping companies safely secure the APIs that power AI adoption.
Shayne Higdon has been elevated from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer. Higdon is leading Wallarm’s expansion, focusing on scaling the company’s global presence and advancing its vision: every business transaction secured, at any scale, in any environment. Higdon brings more than two decades of experience guiding enterprise software companies through periods of rapid growth, market expansion, and digital transformation. He has held senior leadership roles at Quest Software, BMC Software, Jamf, and HighRadius, and has served on multiple boards. As Wallarm’s former COO, Higdon has deep insights into the company’s operations, technology, and customer relationships.
“Every business transaction is a moment of trust, and in an AI-driven world, every one of them must be secured. That is what Wallarm exists to do. We’ve built a leadership team with the experience and conviction to make that vision real for our customers, partners, and employees. AI is already here, reshaping every industry and expanding every attack surface. Wallarm is the company that makes it safe for enterprises to move forward with their AI initiatives.”
— Shayne Higdon, CEO, Wallarm
Wallarm also named industry veterans Bill Berryman and David Cramer as Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively.
Berryman brings to Wallarm more than 30 years of experience building and shaping enterprise sales organizations. Most recently at BMC, he led a team responsible for over $355 million in annual SaaS revenue. Berryman combines disciplined sales execution with an entrepreneurial instinct, making him the right leader to accelerate Wallarm’s global go-to-market expansion.
Cramer brings more than 20 years of operational leadership at high-growth global technology organizations. He helped guide NextVR through its acquisition by Apple and led global operations for The HBAR Foundation. Previously, Cramer served as General Counsel at Quest Software and Dell Software, overseeing legal and compliance for divisions that generated over $1 billion in revenue and drove more than 60 acquisitions.
By aggressively adopting AI, Wallarm understands firsthand what it means to operate securely in an AI-first world, and that understanding informs everything it builds for its customers. Across all functions, Wallarm has embraced AI to accelerate its operations, better serve its customers and partners, and scale the organization at the speed the market demands. In a recent survey, all Wallarm employees cited using AI tools to better serve their customers. This will continue to be amplified by the recently launched internal AI initiative, empowering employees to be part of Wallarm's AI fabric.
Ivan Novikov, who co-founded Wallarm and helped evolve the company into a recognized leader in API and AI security, will focus on rapid prototyping and threat research, while the new executive team will focus on the broader business. Novikov will remain an involved board member as well.
“Wallarm was built on deep technical conviction, and that foundation has never been stronger. With Shayne, Bill, and David now leading operations and growth, I’m able to focus entirely on the research and innovation that will define the next generation of API and AI security. This intentional evolution positions Wallarm for its next decade of innovation and growth. I’m proud of what this team has done - and even more excited about what comes next.”
— Ivan Novikov, Co-Founder, Wallarm
