New York Road Runners and GEICO announced a partnership making GEICO the official insurance partner of the TCS New York City Marathon, uniting two organizations focused on serving runners, fans and communities across New York City.

Through its “Cover Every Mile” initiative, GEICO will mark the 50th anniversary of the marathon’s five-borough course with race-week events, on-course activities and community engagement, celebrating the people who make it one of the city’s most beloved annual events.

“The TCS New York City Marathon brings the entire city together,” said Kate Jalkut, GEICO’s head of integrated marketing and media. “As the No. 1 auto insurer in New York, we want to show up in ways that add to the experience for runners, spectators and the communities along the route. We’re proud to partner with New York Road Runners and be part of an event that means so much to this city.”

“As the nonprofit that ‘runs’ New York City, New York Road Runners is dedicated to inspiring runners of all ages and abilities and creating unforgettable experiences that bring our communities together,” said Christine Burke, chief commercial officer of New York Road Runners. “We’re thrilled to welcome GEICO as a partner of the TCS New York City Marathon, joining us in supporting the nearly 60,000 runners who will take on the iconic five-borough course on Nov. 1. Partnerships like this help us deliver a world-class race experience and celebrate the determination, resilience and spirit of every runner who takes on the streets of New York City.”
