What Happened?
Shares of semiconductor designer Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC) jumped 3.2% in the afternoon session after Benchmark Equity Research initiated coverage on the stock with a Buy rating and a $160 price target.
The research firm highlighted Lattice's growing market share in programmable logic integrated circuits and its strategic expansion into mid-size field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Benchmark also emphasized the company's established presence across data center compute and networking applications. Additionally, the firm expressed optimism regarding Lattice's $1.65 billion acquisition of AMI per TipRanks. Benchmark projected that integrating AMI's secure management platform strengthens Lattice's product portfolio, potentially expanding gross margins beyond 70% and pushing operating margins over 40%.
The shares closed the day at $119.17, up 2.6% from the previous close.

What Is The Market Telling Us
Lattice Semiconductor’s shares are extremely volatile and have had 38 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today’s move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.
The biggest move we wrote about over the last year was 7 months ago when the stock gained 14.5% on the news that the company reported impressive fourth quarter results. It provided optimistic revenue and EPS guidance for the next quarter, both of which exceeded analysts’ expectations. In addition, its revenue in the quarter beat and inventory levels shrunk. Following the results, KeyBanc raised its price target on the stock to $125 from $95, pointing to better-than-expected financial results. The firm kept its 'Overweight' rating on the shares. The analysts noted the company's C&C segment grew 60% year-over-year in the fourth quarter, and its server business increased 85% year-over-year in 2025.
Lattice Semiconductor is up 51.8% since the beginning of the year, but at $119.37 per share, it is still trading 22.8% below its 52-week high of $154.60 from June 2026. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Lattice Semiconductor’s shares 5 years ago would now be looking at an investment worth $2,028.
