-- BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon is gaining international attention for a proprietary breast augmentation technique designed to allow breasts to support their own weight thereby reducing strain on the back and shoulders often associated with traditional procedures. Double board-certified facial and body plastic surgeon Michael Omidi, MD, developed the Mannequin Breast Lift to restore a youthful, lifted appearance for women whose breasts have been affected by aging, weight fluctuations and/or breastfeeding. The procedure’s name is inspired by the firm, elevated contours commonly seen on retail mannequins.
The Mannequin Breast Lift involves carefully separating excess skin from breast tissue at multiple points and creating an internal support structure using dissolvable sutures arranged in a lattice pattern. These sutures stabilize implants and provide support to surrounding tissue. With less disruption to nerves and milk ducts, sensation loss and other related problems commonly associated with breast surgery are minimized.
“Traditional procedures can sometimes leave breasts looking droopy over time,” Omidi said. “The Mannequin Breast Lift preserves much of the natural breast tissue by using a matrix of dissolvable sutures for internal support. As these sutures dissolve, the body replaces them with natural collagen, helping maintain a firmer, more elevated shape.”
Before opening his own practice, Omidi served as an instructor of surgery at Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago and completed his chief residency at Northwestern University Hospital and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He also trained in facial cosmetic, pediatric, and craniofacial reconstructive surgery at Miami Children’s Hospital. Omidi is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery (Breast Surgery), and he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as a member of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery.
Omidi’s practice is located at 9400 Brighton Way, Suite 203, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. For more information or to schedule a consultation, call 310-281-0155 or visit michaelomidi.com
