Palm Beach County wrestling is gaining ground, and Sean Kirtz is one of the coaches leading the charge. A former Palm Beach County champion, regional champion, and state placer, Sean has shifted his focus from the wrestling world to building up young athletes in his home community.

“Miami has been dominating for years, but we’re not far behind anymore,” said Kirtz. “The difference is consistent training. Wrestling can’t be seasonal if we want to compete at that level.”
Now coaching full-time, Sean Kirtz is helping set a new tone for what’s possible in Palm Beach. His coaching résumé already includes over 50 state qualifiers, 20+ state placers, and multiple state finalists—all achieved in just three-month seasons. With year-round training now in place, his expectations are even higher.
“I’ve seen what can happen with just a few months of work,” he said. “Now that we’re building all year long, with the right coaches and athletes, I truly believe we can do something special.”
Sean Kirtz emphasizes that the movement isn’t about one person—it’s about building a culture. Through discipline, consistency, and commitment, he hopes to close the gap between Palm Beach and traditionally dominant regions like Miami.
“This is just the beginning,” he added. “Palm Beach wrestling has the talent. We’re just creating the environment to unlock it.”
