- Every Perk user can now search travel, spend, invoices and events data through Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants, in natural language
- First to offer invoice reconciliation and event management via MCP. Nearly 1 in 4 are already configuring or integrating AI, with strongest demand for work travel automation
- Upcoming this summer Perk will release its MCP connector for travel booking, expense submissions and approval flows for trips and expenses
Perk (formerly TravelPerk), the intelligent AI-native platform for travel and spend management, today launched its MCP (Model Context Protocol) connector. Perk is the first platform to offer travel, spend, invoicing and events through a single AI integration, meeting growing demand from businesses for AI that removes the work behind the work.
MCP is the open standard that lets AI assistants connect directly to workplace software. Available today, Perk MCP gives finance teams, travel managers, and employees the ability to link Perk to Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible assistants, accessing their data through natural language.
Perk customers have been clear about what they want from AI: less manual work, faster answers, and the ability to manage travel and spend without switching tools. In a June survey of over 420 companies, nearly 1 in 4 (23%) have gone beyond basic AI use by configuring AI tools, connecting them to other systems, or building their own AI solutions. Only 6% report no AI use at work, and 64% say their view of AI has become more positive in the last six months. Among those building agentic AI workflows, the number one use case they want to automate is work travel.
Perk is the first all-in-one travel and spend platform to give finance teams access to travel invoices via MCP, including line-item breakdowns and PDF downloads on demand. They can ask "Which invoices from Q2 are unpaid?" or "Show me all flight line items for our Boston cost centre" and get structured answers in seconds. It is also the first in its category to give event managers AI access to their full events programme. With Perk Events now integrated via MCP, teams can query upcoming sessions, locations, attendee details and RSVP status directly. Neither capability exists in any competing MCP today.
Beyond those firsts, Perk users can get answers on their daily travel and spend tasks from inside the AI tools they already use every day. Travelers can check trip status, bookings, pending expenses and card transactions. Finance teams can search expenses, download structured spend reports, and view corporate card spend across the organization. Travel managers can monitor pending approvals, query travel policy rules, and audit users by role, cost centre, or approval process to close setup gaps fast.
"Every team in a business touches travel and spend data, but most of them are still digging through reports and switching platforms to find simple answers. That’s the shadow work this MCP connector removes, meeting teams inside the tools they already use. The customers we speak to who are building AI workflows are telling us the same thing: they want it to handle travel, guided by their policies, calendar and preferences. We’re excited to be leading the industry with this first release, and we can’t wait for our customers to also be able to book work travel, submit expenses and manage approval flows using AI," comments Nikita Miller, Chief Product Officer, Perk.
"AI should give back the power to employees to do what they love the most, their vocation, their purpose. The Perk MCP connector is one more way we're making that happen. If you cut the work that was never the job, what's left is space for the growth and people that actually matter," comments Jean-Christophe Taunay-Bucalo, President and Chief Operating Officer, Perk.
The Perk MCP connector is already live and available to Perk’s 12,000 customers with more capabilities on the way. This summer, Perk will expand the functionality to enable travel booking, expense submission, receipt upload, event logistics, trip modifications and approval flows.
