Organizations can keep compatible cameras, search every camera with AI, and see the video behind every door and badge event from the platform they already use

Genea, today launched Genea Video, its own cloud-native video solution. Genea Video brings live and recorded video, AI-powered search, and automations into the same platform customers use to manage doors and credentials. Customers get one system, one login, and one company to call.

For many organizations, access control and video still come from two separate vendors. When something happens at a door, the badge event sits in one system and the footage sits in another. Integrations can show live video next to a door event, but searching footage, managing cameras, and pulling evidence still happen in a second tool with its own bill and its own support team.

Genea Video is built and supported by Genea, not added through a third party. Every clip ties back to the door and badge event behind it, and AI search runs across every camera from the same portal team members already use for access control.

“At Genea, we’re committed to delivering innovative solutions that address our customers’ evolving needs,” said Michael Wong, CEO and President of Genea. “The launch of Genea Video reflects that commitment while reinforcing our core principle of providing end users with the freedom of choice. Customers can continue using their existing video solutions through our open integrations or take advantage of a fully unified experience with Genea Video. By combining AI-powered video intelligence with our cloud-native access control platform, we’re delivering a more powerful, seamless security experience without compromising the flexibility and openness that define Genea.”

Open cameras, two ways to deploy

Genea Video works with open, non-proprietary cameras. Organizations can deploy it in two ways:

  • Genea Gateway. An on-site appliance, built on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin platform, connects compatible RTSP cameras, records locally, and runs AI at the edge. It fits sites that already have cameras on the wall and sites with limited bandwidth.
  • Axis Camera-to-Cloud. Supported Axis cameras stream directly to the cloud with no on-site hardware. It fits distributed organizations such as retail chains, franchises, and branch offices.

What's included at launch

  • AI attribute search across every connected camera, plus area-of-interest search within a specific part of the frame
  • Event-linked video that ties each clip to the door and badge event that triggered it
  • Automations that connect video, access control, and intrusion events in one place
  • Live view, recorded playback, and custom camera walls on desktop and the Genea mobile app
  • Clip creation and export for sharing evidence

“Genea has been on the leading edge unifying access control and video for the past decade through our partner integrations. Genea Video takes that single pane of glass to the next level by providing enhanced automation capabilities and AI detection so customers can focus on the signal without the noise,” said Mike Maxsenti, SVP of Product. “Additionally, our approach allows customers not to have to compromise and buy proprietary hardware which means they keep the ultimate flexibility for the life of the system and have more choices of camera types and form factors for different needs.”

Availability

Genea Video is available now through Genea's network of authorized integrator partners. Existing Genea customers can add it to the platform they already run.
