Three commitments give Angel Guild members the final say over every title, set clear standards on nudity, sex, language, and God’s name, and put parents in control at home
Building on more than a decade of bringing family-friendly and historically rich entertainment to a vast audience, Angel (NYSE: ANGX) is making a groundbreaking commitment to its approximately 3 million Angel Guild members.
Having long held the power to decide what comes to Angel through a first-of-its-kind values-driven community model, Guild members have driven rapid growth and loyalty by establishing a direct connection between fans and filmmakers. Today, Angel is announcing an even further promise to members and viewers across its streaming platform and in theaters: The Angel Promise.
The new Angel Promise establishes clear standards to ensure films and series hold key values throughout the creative process. The initiative is built upon three core commitments:
1. THE ANGEL GUILD ALWAYS DECIDES: If a film or series scores below 70 out of 100, it does not enter the Angel entertainment ecosystem. Every member votes under the Guild Pledge to choose projects that are “true, honest, noble, just, authentic, lovely, admirable, or joyful.”
2. THE THREE NON-NEGOTIABLE STANDARDS for all future films and series:
- No Nudity or Sex on Screen - No nudity and no sex acts on screen, ever.
- No Misuse of God’s Name - Angel will not release original films or series that misuse God’s name (defined as irreverent or profane use). Sincere, reverent, or devotional use in any faith is respected.
- Language Standard - No use of the F-word in any story. No profanity in titles submitted for children 12 and under.
3. PARENTAL CONTROLS: Hollywood ratings mean very different things from one film to the next. Angel Guild members collectively set recommended age ratings and plain-language story notes to help parents have context before making family watching decisions. New parental controls rolling out on titles in the Angel app empower parents to choose what their family watches, tailoring each viewing experience to their family’s standards and children's ages.
“A PG-13 rating from the MPA isn’t precise enough for families seeking values-based entertainment,” said Jeff Harmon, Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer of Angel. “Our Guild tells parents what’s actually in a film, and our parental controls let each family decide what plays in their home.”
The founders established these permanent boundaries and language standards to ensure that decades from now, the Guild and Angel creators will understand the required content standards designed to serve values-based viewers. Their goal is simple: better stories made for families.

About Angel
Angel (NYSE: ANGX) is a media and technology company successfully pioneering a first-of-its-kind audience-driven studio model. Founded by brothers who struggled to find films they could watch with their children, Angel was built on the belief that there was a global audience hungry for values-driven storytelling that amplifies light, celebrates hope, and inspires the moral imagination of viewers. That audience became the Angel Guild, a rapidly growing community of approximately 3 million paying members who watch, screen, and vote on which films and television series get produced and distributed in theaters and on the Angel app. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Angel’s releases average among the highest audience satisfaction scores in the industry.* It has done so while evolving a new economic model that shares profits more fully with filmmakers.
