Former 33eleven Partner joins from Boston to expand the firm’s growth equity practice, with a focus on AI-first leadership talent

Assembly Group, a leading boutique executive search firm serving private equity-backed software and technology companies, today announced that Sam Boynton has joined the firm to further expand its work with growth equity clients. Based in Boston, Sam will focus on helping growth investors and their portfolio companies recruit world-class executive teams, with particular emphasis on executive leaders across functions who can harness AI to drive innovation, transformation, and growth.

Over the past decade, Assembly Group has built its reputation placing executive talent across the C-level for leading private equity sponsors, including TA Associates, Hg, PSG, and Insight Partners. As that work has grown, the firm has seen a clear and continued opportunity in growth equity, where companies are scaling quickly and demand is accelerating for leaders across every function who can put AI to work.

Sam’s arrival represents an exciting next chapter in Assembly’s growth equity practice. He will partner with growth equity investors and the CEOs and founding teams they back, bringing Assembly’s senior-led, high-touch search model to companies at an earlier and faster-moving stage of growth.

“Demand from our growth equity clients keeps building, especially now. In the age of AI, companies are scaling quickly and need top-tier leaders to take them to the next level,” said Carissa Clark, CEO and Founding Partner of Assembly Group. “Sam has spent his career recruiting leaders for exactly these kinds of companies, so bringing him on was a natural fit. He knows the investors and founders, and he cares deeply about the experience of both candidates and clients. He’s a fantastic addition to our team.”

About Sam Boynton

Sam brings over a decade of experience recruiting executive leadership teams for high-growth software and technology companies. His search experience spans CEO and senior leadership placements across go-to-market, product, technology, and finance functions.

Sam founded Lumeidon Partners, a boutique executive search firm that was acquired by 33eleven in 2022, where he joined as a Partner. As a Partner at 33eleven, Sam worked extensively with growth equity-backed software companies, completing executive searches across the portfolios of leading investors, including M33 Growth, Lead Edge Capital, Susquehanna Growth Equity, Frontier Growth, and Level Equity.

“I’ve spent the majority of my career focused on growth equity software, and I see a tremendous opportunity to build on the market-leading platform Assembly has established,” said Sam Boynton. “Assembly’s reputation, approach to executive search, and deep relationships across the investor ecosystem create a strong foundation for continued growth. I’m excited to be part of its next chapter, particularly as AI continues to reshape the leadership needs of growth-stage companies.”
