The law firm of Federman & Sherwood has initiated an investigation into Canopy Children’s Solutions with respect to their recent data breach. On April 4, 2023, Canopy discovered encrypted files on certain systems in its network. In response, Canopy Immediately took steps to secure its systems and launched an investigation into the full nature and scope of the event with the assistance of third-party forensic specialists. The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain systems on its network and may have accessed and/or acquired certain files and undertook a comprehensive and time-consuming review of the files to identify the type of information contained herein, and to whom the information relates. The information possibly accessed includes individuals’ name and Social Security number.
