Scott Cole & Associates is pleased to announce the addition of Laura Van Note as a shareholder of the firm and has changed its name to Cole & Van Note.

Laura joined the firm in early 2019 as an associate and quickly made an impact on the direction of the firm. Throughout a tumultuous 2020, Laura provided invaluable guidance to her clients and successfully advocated for them in a time of heightened vulnerability for low-wage workers.

Ms. Van Note possesses a broad range of litigation experience handling matters related to labor and employment, product liability, premises liability, personal injury and civil rights matters. She has extensive courtroom experience and her clients benefit from her varied background representing plaintiffs and defendants.

Ms. Van Note is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Law, where she was the Captain of the National Trial Advocacy Team, President of the American Constitutional Society and Teaching Assistant to the Director of Advocacy (Dean’s List and Order of the Barrister). In her spare time, Ms. Van Note volunteers as a judge for the University of California, Berkeley trial advocacy competitions. She is a member of the California, Missouri and Kansas State bars and is admitted to practice in numerous federal courts in California, Missouri and Kansas.
