New biosecurity platform combines intelligent surveillance with targeted fly and mosquito control.
-- OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — July 21, 2026 — Blue Green Ventures, Inc. announced the continued development of TrapLink™, an advanced field-deployable biosecurity platform designed to support the early detection, identification, classification, and control of New World Screwworm and other insect-related threats.
TrapLink™ is being developed to help livestock producers, veterinarians, researchers, municipalities, and government agencies recognize suspicious insect activity earlier and respond faster.

“New World Screwworm is a mounting threat to livestock, wildlife, and the agricultural economy, and we need every effective tool available to detect it early and stop its spread,” said Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller. “The TrapLink™ system has the potential to become a valuable part of early-warning and biosecurity efforts by helping producers and animal-health officials identify suspicious fly activity sooner and respond before an isolated detection becomes a widespread emergency.”
Ryan Early, inventor and creator of the TrapLink™ and PheroGuard™ systems, said the platform was developed to address the critical gap between the arrival of an insect threat and the point when it is traditionally recognized.
“Biosecurity begins with knowing when and where a threat is emerging,” Early said. “TrapLink was created to give producers, veterinarians, researchers, and government agencies an advanced set of eyes in the field—helping monitor, document, and classify insect activity before a localized problem becomes a regional emergency.”
Two Systems, One Biosecurity Mission
TrapLink Sentinel™ is the identification-and-classification version of the platform. It is being developed to attract target insects, collect field images, store monitoring data, and support artificial-intelligence-assisted review and early-warning notifications.
TrapLink Ranger™ is the active kill-trap version. It is being developed to attract, capture, and eliminate flies, mosquitoes, gnats, midges, and other targeted flying insects while supporting field monitoring and population-trend documentation.
TrapLink™ units may be deployed across ranches, livestock facilities, wildlife areas, transportation corridors, municipal mosquito-control districts, border regions, and other high-risk surveillance zones.
“TrapLink is more than a conventional insect trap,” Early said. “The Sentinel is designed to help identify the threat, while the Ranger is designed to reduce insect pressure. Together with the PheroGuard™ Livestock Protection System, they create a layered approach to biosecurity and livestock protection.”
TrapLink™ is not intended to replace veterinarians, official surveillance programs, or laboratory confirmation. Suspected New World Screwworm detections should be reported immediately to the appropriate animal-health authorities.
TrapLink™ is currently in prototype development and field evaluation. Identification, classification, detection, capture-rate, and performance claims have not yet been independently verified or approved by a regulatory agency.
