Buddy Treats' Official Launch Is in April for Two Very Important Reasons: First, It's Autism Awareness Month. Second, It's Buddy's Birthday!

The inspiration for Buddy Treats stemmed from Michele’s (Founder of Buddy Treats) family’s journey to connect with Sebastian, her grandson with autism. When Sebastian was diagnosed with autism at age 2, her family was searching for meaningful ways to connect with him. The sole purpose was to get Buddy to work with Sebastian, so he felt a certain sense of comfort and acceptance. When the bond occurred with Buddy and Sebastian, it sparked something bigger - it showed what’s possible when love, patience, and play come together.

It’s also about opportunity, the opportunity to build an inclusive, neurodiverse workplace. Buddy Treats is packaged, distributed, and sold by people with neurodiverse backgrounds. Every dollar earned will support the autism community while also providing donations to dog rescue organizations - building a community where everyone is seen, valued, and heard.

Doing good is important, but tasting good makes it last…

Buddy Treats is handmade with love using limited ingredients, with a pumpkin and peanut butter base to create a healthy, gluten and preservative-free dog treat. Every treat baked is wheat, corn, soy, and gluten-free (the most common allergens and fillers in commercial dog products). All-natural simple ingredients, a freshness dogs can taste with every bite.

Michele Adubato, Founder and CEO of Buddy Treats, has led a purpose-driven life, and her background has brought her full circle to Buddy Treats. She is the Founder of The Center For Autism and CEO of The North Ward Center. She was also a special education teacher and the principal of a specialized school for children with autism ages 5-21. Michele has witnessed firsthand the unique strengths and perspectives neurodivergent individuals bring to the world.

So, “Buddy Treats” is more than just a crunchilicious dog treat. It’s a reminder that connection is possible, that hope and purpose can be shared, and that sometimes big change starts with a little treat ... Buddy approved!
