Karpel, the largest provider of prosecutor case management and public defender software for state and local government agencies and a portfolio company of Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), is pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Hicks as Chief Executive Officer.

A proven software executive with more than two decades of experience leading and scaling mission-critical technology businesses, Mr. Hicks will play a central role in advancing Karpel’s mission of delivering purpose-built software to the prosecutors and public defender offices that depend on them every day.

"I'm honored to join Karpel and build on the remarkable foundation Jeff and the team have created," said Mr. Hicks. "For decades, Karpel has earned the trust of prosecutors' offices and criminal justice agencies by delivering software that helps them serve their communities more effectively. Having spent much of my career working with legal professionals, compliance organizations, and government customers, I understand how important these systems are to the people who rely on them every day. My focus will be on listening to our customers, investing in innovation, and ensuring Karpel continues to be the trusted partner agencies depend on for years to come."

Mr. Hicks joins Karpel after leading and scaling several mission-critical software businesses serving highly regulated industries. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of EZDerm, a healthcare software platform supporting dermatology practices across the United States. Previously, he served as CEO of Intelligize, a leading LegalTech and regulatory intelligence platform used by law firms, corporate legal departments, and compliance professionals. Under his leadership, Intelligize more than doubled revenue in three years, expanded its product portfolio, and was successfully acquired by LexisNexis. Following the acquisition, Mr. Hicks assumed leadership responsibility for LexisNexis's State & Local Government business while helping drive growth across a broader portfolio serving legal professionals and government customers.

"After an extensive search, I am confident Todd is the right leader for Karpel's next chapter," said Jeff Karpel, Founder and Chairman. "Todd brings a rare combination of software leadership, legal technology experience, and a deep understanding of government customers. Throughout his career, he has helped organizations grow while staying focused on the needs of the people they serve. Just as importantly, he appreciates the responsibility that comes with supporting mission-critical systems for public-sector agencies. I look forward to working closely with Todd to ensure a seamless transition for our employees and customers."
