Pledge reinforces the company's existing commitment to fund 100% of the power infrastructure and utility upgrades its data centers require

DC BLOX, a provider of connected digital infrastructure across the Southeastern United States, today announced it has signed the White House Ratepayer Protection Pledge. The pledge commits data center developers, hyperscalers, and utilities to pay the full cost of the power and grid infrastructure their facilities require, so those costs are not passed on to local households and businesses.

Under the pledge, DC BLOX will build, bring, or buy the new power supply its facilities require and pay for the delivery infrastructure needed to serve them. In practice, that means working with regional utilities early in development and, where it makes sense, pairing projects with dedicated power generation.

DC BLOX joins more than 300 signatories, including more than 40 data center developers, more than 250 utilities and electric cooperatives, and 23 governors. The pledge builds on The DC BLOX Community Commitment, the company's framework for how it works with and invests in the communities where it builds.

“Our adoption of the White House Ratepayer Protection Pledge reinforces the core values of our Community Commitment, ensuring every project delivers long-term accountability, reliability, and local trust,” said Jeff Uphues, Chief Executive Officer of DC BLOX. “The White House pledge establishes national commitments on ratepayer protection, workforce investment, and grid resilience. The DC BLOX Community Commitment governs how we engage, build, and operate locally."

The DC BLOX Community Commitment is a ten-pillar framework of specific, measurable protections for the communities where it builds. The first pillar, Power & Grid Enhancement, commits DC BLOX to fully fund 100% of the power infrastructure and utility upgrades required to serve its data centers, so residents do not bear the cost of grid modernization. The Community Commitment applies in every market DC BLOX enters.

“Protecting ratepayers starts with early, open coordination with local utilities and regulators,” said Tricia Pridemore, Executive Vice President of Energy, Regulatory and Policy at DC BLOX. “When a data center pays for its own infrastructure and brings its own energy solutions to the table, the community gets the benefits of that investment without the bill.”
