Christopher Schaper to Retire Following Distinguished AIG Tenure

Graham Fulcher Appointed Global Chief Actuary, Succeeding Mr. Hussain

American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) today announced that Turab Hussain has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of AIG, effective October 12, 2026. Mr. Hussain will report to Eric Andersen, President & Chief Executive Officer, AIG and will serve on AIG’s Executive Leadership Team. He will continue to be based at AIG’s New York headquarters. Mr. Hussain succeeds Christopher Schaper as AIG’s Chief Risk Officer, who has informed the company that he intends to retire from AIG at the end of this year.

Since 2023, Mr. Hussain has served as AIG’s Global Chief Actuary, with responsibility for pricing, reserving and other actuarial activities across the company. He joined AIG in 2021 as Chief Risk Officer for General Insurance. Prior to AIG, Mr. Hussain was Chief Risk & Actuarial Officer at PartnerRe and Chief Insurance Risk Officer at The Hartford. Earlier in his career, he held risk and actuarial roles at Arch Insurance, The Hartford, American Re and Reliance Insurance.

Mr. Andersen said, “Turab is an impressive leader with deep technical expertise, trusted judgment and a collaborative approach to advancing important priorities. His experience as AIG’s Global Chief Actuary and previously as Chief Risk Officer for General Insurance makes him exceptionally well qualified to serve as AIG’s Chief Risk Officer. I am confident that Turab’s deep understanding of our company positions him well to lead our enterprise risk organization with a continued focus on enhancing the way we assess, manage and respond to risk across AIG.”

Mr. Hussain said, “I am honored to take on this important role, and I look forward to working with our colleagues across the company to continue strengthening our risk capabilities, supporting disciplined decision-making and helping AIG deliver value for our clients, partners and shareholders.”

Chris Schaper joined AIG in 2019 as CEO of AIG Re, and during his tenure, he served in several influential leadership roles across underwriting, reinsurance and risk, including Global Chief Underwriting Officer from November 2023 to January 2025 and Chief Risk Officer since January 2025. He also served as a member of AIG’s Executive Leadership Team.

AIG also announced the appointment of Graham Fulcher to Global Chief Actuary, succeeding Mr. Hussain, effective October 12, 2026. Mr. Fulcher will report to Mr. Hussain and will be based in London. Mr. Fulcher joined AIG in 2022 as Chief Actuary, International Commercial Insurance. Prior to AIG, he held senior actuarial and risk consulting roles at Chubb, WTW and ACE.
