Family Owned, Community Driven, Globally Renowned: TXB Named to the 2025 Top Foodvenience Stores in the World

Everything’s bigger in Texas, and TXB (Texas Born) is a finalist for one of the biggest convenience store awards on the planet. Global Convenience, the online platform for the convenience and mobility retail industry, has named TXB as one of 12 finalists for the 2025 Best Foodvenience Stores in the World competition. The finalists represent eight countries and showcase the highest standards of innovation, engagement and operational excellence in convenience foodservice.

TXB is one of just two finalists from the United States, and it has the chance to prove why its Texas values of authenticity, hospitality and integrity make it the #1 best foodvenience store in the world during the voting stage. Voting is now open to industry retailers and suppliers through November 6.

“Our motto – ‘leave ‘em better’ – isn’t just a marketing slogan; it’s who we are as a company. Whether it’s our communities, customers or employees, we aim to leave ‘em better than before they knew us,” said TXB CEO Kevin Smartt. “We’ve never been driven by awards and accolades, but it’s still heartening to see that our community-focused Texas Born brand is making a global impact.”

TXB’s made-to-order food may be fast, but it’s no fast food. From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, TXB supports local growers whenever possible and uses fresh, never-frozen ingredients to cater to a variety of dietary styles, emphasizing Texas flavor profiles.

“My job is to look for food innovation items that ensure our food is fresh, fast and always delicious,” said Director of Food Innovation Jimmy Crowder. “That includes trying new spices, different proteins, and experimenting with delivery methods to ensure our customers can eat on the go. This recognition is validation of our unwavering focus to give guests high-quality food items and first-class service, all stemming from the Texas roots upon which the brand was built.”

The “leave ‘em better” motto also applies to the stores’ tech-forward approach to drive convenience and their focus on reducing their environmental impact by minimizing single-use plastic and foam materials.

The Top 12 Foodvenience Store in the World recognition is the latest in a highly awarded year for TXB. In 2025, CEO Kevin Smartt was inducted into the Convenience Store News Hall of Fame, and TXB received the silver medal for Prepared Foods Innovator of the Year in Convenience Store News’ Foodservice Innovators Awards.
