Lee Chambers to speak at EWMD Brussels Declaration Event
Lee Chambers of Male Allies UK
Chambers will join an esteemed lineup exploring equity in the workplace

Lee Chambers, the business psychologist and founder of Male Allies UK, will be on stage in Brussels this week, speaking on gender equity and male allyship. He will be a part of the "Redefining Workplace Equity: Let's Stop Fixing Women and Embrace Systemic Solutions" event, hosted by the European Women's Management Development Network. He will be sharing his experience and insights of engaging men and male leaders to partner with women to close close gender gaps, create equitable cultures and build allyship skillsets.

This event will challenge traditional narratives surrounding gender equality in the workplace and advocate for systemic solutions. In addition, it will delve into the intersection of gender and entrepreneurship policies, focusing on the gender care gap and the pivotal role of male allies in advancing workplace equity. Joining Chambers on the stage will be experts from across Europe, including Emily van Putten, Carmen Niethammer, Claudia Persico and Sachiko Muto.

The European Women's Management Development Network was founded in 1984 by women engaged in business schools, universities and business associations across Europe. The main goal was to bring women closer to higher management positions by launching studies on women's contributions and experiences in management and by disseminating their best practices among European companies and business schools. The first activities of EWMD also focused on offering new, unedited professional female role models to young women in need of positive, inspiring examples.

On joining the EWMD for this event, Lee Chambers said, "It is a pleasure to be able to share some of our insights with a European audience and to take the stage alongside some of the continent's equality trailblazers and champions. Men have an active and important role to play within dismantling barriers that still exist despite progress made. It should never be left to those marginalised by the barriers to fight alone for their removal; that is a job for all of us, together."

This event comes in a busy week for Chambers, whose organisation Male Allies UK recently launched a campaign entitled "Mistletoe Isn't Consent", focusing on making Christmas parties more inclusive and safe.
