TRADE NEWS: Agilent Technologies' DisplayPort Source Test Compliance Solution Selected by Analogix Semiconductor

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) today announced that Analogix Semiconductor, a leader in providing DisplayPort semiconductors, has chosen Agilents DisplayPort source test solution for automated compliance testing of its family of DisplayPort products. The test solution includes an Agilent Infiniium Series oscilloscope (model DSA90804A), the W2641A DisplayPort test point adaptor and the U7232A DisplayPort compliance test software.

The DisplayPort standard, developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), defines a high-bandwidth interface for connecting laptops or personal computers with display monitors, and for connecting computers with high-definition consumer electronics devices. The DisplayPort interface will replace the commonly used VGA and DVI interfaces in the next generation of computer products.

We are excited to have the Agilent team working with us, and we feel the rigorous testing process theyve gone through with VESA proves their product superiority, said Bryan Greear, vice president of marketing at Analogix. Having a close relationship with Agilent will ensure our market leadership in providing a fully compliant DisplayPort product.

We are absolutely delighted with our engagement with Analogix Semiconductor and their decision to use Agilents DisplayPort solution, said Brian Fetz, Agilents DisplayPort program manager. We think of it as the bellwether of things to come as we continue to add value for our customers in the DisplayPort test market.

Agilents DisplayPort source test solution was the first DisplayPort source compliance test solution on the market, and in February 2008 it was approved as the first VESA DisplayPort-compliant source test solution. With the Agilent solution, Analogix will offer a complete test-automation solution for DisplayPort receiver physical layer and sink devices for DisplayPort compliance testing as specified by VESA, including control of the device under test and the test instrumentation.
