V Foundation Wine Celebration Answer for Cancer Symposium Goes Virtual for 2020

The V Foundation Wine Celebration is going virtual on August 8, 2020 by presenting “MOMENTUM 2.0,” an immersive, digital auction experience supporting the V Foundation’s fight to achieve Victory Over Cancer®. Each year, as part of the annual event, the V Foundation Wine Celebration hosts the Answer for Cancer research symposium, where world-class researchers present cutting-edge information to the general public. This year, the symposium will be available to the public virtually at 9am PDT, allowing more participation and offering a unique chance to hear about the newest developments in the fight against cancer, especially critical in the current COVID-19 era. Hosted by SportsCenter Anchor Sage Steele, the 2020 Answer for Cancer Symposium will feature commentary by Nick Valvano, former CEO of the V Foundation, and Steve Bornstein, the Chairman of the V Foundation and former CEO of ESPN, Inc. 2020 panelists include Dr. Bill Nelson, Director of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Joe Moore, Professor of Medicine at Duke Cancer Institute and Jim Valvano’s doctor, as well as other esteemed members of the V Foundation Scientific Committee. In addition, past recipients of V Scholar grants will be sharing important information on their scientific work in the fight against cancer. Organizers are encouraging those who have questions about cancer research to record a video taped question and submit via www.winecelebration.org/grants/symposium, using the hashtag #AskOurAllStars. Select submissions will be answered live by our panel of experts. Tips for submitting video questions are use a well-lit area, with a neutral background, and to film from the waist up, only in landscape/horizontal/sideways position. Speak slowly, loudly and from the heart!
