Social Media influencer and personal trainer Sharon Lombardi has received some backlash for one of her recent videos where she is shown doing questionable exercises with her dog. There has been some controversy surrounding the video and many have accused her of animal abuse.
One Instagrammer commented… “all it would take would be one slip and that dog would be a pancake. Using a regular step would be a lot safer ... a little common sense could go a long way.”
Another Instagrammer expressed, “The problem with this video is that people who watch this are going to try this with their pets. They won’t have the same skill set, and a lot of pets are going to get hurt from this.”
Lombardi responded with, “I appreciate the concern that others have about the well-being of Samson, because there are many dogs in situations where they are abused or mistreated. People love seeing Samson in my videos, so whenever I have to opportunity to include him, I do. I care deeply about his safety, and I am familiar with both of our abilities. He is a large herding dog, and is built for strength and durability. Trust me, if anyone was to get injured in the video, it would be me.”
Most users agree with Lombardi and found this video to be enjoyable and amusing. For many, the video reminded them of a goofy pet they once had. Commenters have thanked Lombardi for sharing the video because it brightened their day.
