Hong Kong yuan bonds will have muted market impact

China’s decision to sell yuan-denominated sovereign bonds in Hong Kong was a small step in the mainland’s long journey toward capital account convertibility, but analysts say it is unlikely to be a big step in significantly boosting either the city’s liquidity or shares traded there in the near term.
