Katherine Jewett offers individual and group therapy options for women, teens, and couples in California. She is also in the process of releasing several online courses including a mindfulness for anxiety course, an Anxiety Crushers course filled with tools she uses in her practice to help clients get control over their anxiety, and Couples’ Course with skills and tools for couples to find connection again. She will be releasing other courses over the course of the year and will offer some free mini-courses on her website at www.timetothrivetherapy.com.
Katherine understands the importance of feeling in control of our emotions and connected to the people we love and wants to make that as accessible as possible whether clients are ready to take that step toward therapy or are just trying to find some guided self-help. She knows what it feels like to feel overwhelmed, scattered, and disconnected from those we love, and feels that no one should ever have to live like that. She strives to provide an effective and supportive environment for her clients at whatever stage they are in. Katherine has worked with hundreds of women, teens, and couples for over a decade and is passionate about helping her clients find relief from their struggles and be more in control of their lives.
For anyone who’s looking for a therapist who will work tirelessly to help clients find the solutions they need, Katherine is a perfect choice. She works differently from many therapists through a blending of relationship, science, and technology to help clients reach their goals. Katherine uses a 3-prong system for well-rounded healing. The first step is to help clients understand the past and make sense of it. The second is to help clients understand how that past directs their thoughts and behaviors automatically and how to shift that automation into something that works for the better in their lives. The last step includes giving clients a user’s manual for their brains to learn how to hack their emotional challenges and reshape their brains so that they feel more calm, confident and connected.
Katherine uses technology as an adjunct to therapy and as a stand-alone for clients that are not ready for other types of therapy. Some of the technology that Katherine offers within her practice include Myndlift neurofeedback and Heart Math biofeedback training that allow clients to train their brain and nervous systems to resolve symptoms of anxiety, depression, focus issues, and pain. Katherine also offers Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) therapy, developed by Stephen Porges and Unyte/ILS which has been proven effective in reshaping the nervous and polyvagal system.
Katherine offers anxiety and OCD treatment, teen therapy, group therapy, and couples counseling. She feels that her passion and care for her clients empower them and help them feel more confident and connected. Katherine’s clients often tell her that her work with them is incredibly different than other therapists as with Katherine, they don’t just feel heard and understood, they feel empowered with practical tools that last them a lifetime. Katherine uses a blend of skills training, therapy, and nervous system shaping when working with couples to help them find connection, repair past injuries, and work as a supporting and loving team.
Jewett has experience and training working in several modalities, including Attachment Therapy, PACT Couples’ Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. With the help of her experience and technology, Katherine’s mission is to heal the world one nervous system at a time through empowerment, understanding, and connection. She is a Certified Trauma Specialist and a Certified Anxiety Specialist, among her many other certifications.

According to Katherine Jewett, “I became a therapist because I know how crippling and helpless it can feel not to be in control of one’s life. I want to help others find their way back to feeling empowered and capable. I am passionate about it. Every day, I work to make a difference in the lives of my clients. One of the things I love most about being a therapist is watching my clients continually surprise themselves with strengths and resources that they didn’t even know they had. I want to put the ownership and empowerment for life-long lasting change in the hands of my clients by showing them the resources that all humans have to change their stories. Your history doesn’t have to equal your story.”
