Pinnacle Financial Partners (Nasdaq/NGS: PNFP) is ranked higher than ever as one of the top places to work in the United States, according to a new list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For® from FORTUNE magazine and Great Place to Work. The firm came in at No. 14, its highest rank yet, moving up 13 spots from 2019.
This is Pinnacle’s fourth consecutive appearance on the list. It joins companies like Hilton, Cisco and Salesforce in having one of the most engaging and rewarding workplace cultures in the nation.
“Our company is built on a philosophy of treating people well, and that starts with our associates,” said Terry Turner, Pinnacle’s president and CEO. “We follow a simple but powerful formula: We hire the best, give them the freedom to do their jobs, give them ownership of the company and their work, and give them shared goals with shared rewards. With this foundation, we built an engaging culture that leads to sky-high retention rates, low levels of turnover and a powerful tool for attracting top talent. We put associates first because we know that when they’re happy, they’ll make our clients even happier.”
The FORTUNE list is one of the country’s most prestigious workplace award programs, with results gleaned from more than 650,000 employee surveys. Data are gathered on more than 60 elements of their experience on the job, including camaraderie, trust in leadership, respect with which people are treated and fairness. Rankings are based entirely on employee feedback and reward companies who best include all employees, regardless of who they are or what they do.
Pinnacle also has been recently recognized as of the country’s Best Banks to Work For and a Best Workplace for Millennials. On the local level, Pinnacle has earned dozens of workplace awards, including recent rankings in Virginia, South Carolina, Memphis, TN, Charlotte, NC and the Triad region of North Carolina.
“When companies lose focus on their employees, it begins a terrible cycle where clients can’t get the level of service they need and deserve,” Turner said. “That’s particularly true in banking. We set out to break that cycle when we founded Pinnacle, so we set our vision at the very beginning to be the best place to work. Everything is built on associate engagement because without it, you can’t win or keep clients.”
The FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For® list is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and FORTUNE based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations.
