Carl E. Vogel Joins Ascent Media Corporation’s Board as Independent Director

Ascent Media Corporation (“Ascent Media” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: ASCMA) a holding company that owns Ascent Media Group (“AMG”), a leading provider of fully integrated, end-to-end services for the digital media supply chain on a worldwide basis, today announced that Carl E. Vogel has joined the Company’s Board of Directors as an independent director. With Mr. Vogel’s appointment, Ascent Media expands its Board of Directors to six members. Mr. Vogel will also serve on the Company’s Audit Committee.

“Carl’s impressive experience in the media and telecom industry will make him an outstanding contributor to Ascent Media’s already strong slate of directors,” said Ascent Media’s Chief Executive Officer, William Fitzgerald. “Carl brings valuable leadership skills to Ascent Media and we look forward to the strategic insight he will provide.”

Mr. Vogel currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Dish Network Corporation and an advisor to its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder. He is also a partner at SCP Worldwide, and serves on the Board of Directors for Shaw Communications Inc., Universal Electronics Inc., and NextWave Wireless Inc.

Previously, Mr. Vogel held several executive level appointments including President of Dish Network and EchoStar Communications Corporation and subsequently Vice Chairman. Mr. Vogel was also President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Charter Communications Inc., and served on a number of Boards of Directors of both public and private Liberty Media Corporation affiliates.

Mr. Vogel graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin and was recognized as the Distinguished Alumni in Business in July 2002.
