Take Profit vs Trailing Stop Loss on Meme Coins: Which Exit to Set First on Banana Gun

Banana Gun puts both exits inside Setup Sell Limit Order. Reach for Take Profit on a position when you have a price target before you buy. Reach for Trailing Stop Loss on a position when you have no idea where the top will be.

Both orders live in the same menu, so the choice depends on the coin in front of you, not on the tool. The question is whether you can name your exit number before the buy.

The Banana Gun Telegram trading bot takes the order on a pasted contract and holds it until it triggers or expires.

Which exit do you set first: Take Profit or trailing stop loss?

Ask one thing: do you know the number? If you do, Take Profit is the exit you reach for on that position. If you do not, Trailing Stop Loss is.

Decide per position. The coin you bought with a target in mind gets one answer, and the next coin you buy gets its own.

The setup is the same for both. Paste the contract, tap Setup Sell Limit Order, set Tokens (the percentage of your holding to sell) and Active (how long the order lives), then choose the order type.

The trigger is a percentage change in Market Cap or Token Price. The wider menu is covered in Banana Gun's guide to on-chain limit orders.

Take Profit when you know the number

Take Profit sells at a fixed rise. A +100% trigger is 2x, +200% is 3x, +300% is 4x and +400% is 5x. Banana Gun's docs use 100% in their example.

Say you buy 0.5 SOL of a coin and set Take Profit at +300% with Tokens at 80%. At 4x, the order sells 80% of your tokens for about 1.6 SOL, before fees and slippage.

The other 20% is worth about 0.4 SOL at that moment and keeps running. The 4x is a setting you chose, and the coin may never reach it, in which case the order never sells.

Tokens at 100% would sell the whole position at the target. Anything lower leaves a remainder, and how much to leave is your call.

Pick Market Cap or Token Price for the trigger and use the same one each time, so a percentage means the same thing when you read the order later.

Fees apply on both sides. Banana Gun charges 1% per trade on Solana, so the buy and the sell each carry it.

Trailing stop loss when you do not know the top

Trailing Stop Loss raises its trigger as price makes new highs. You do not guess a ceiling; the order follows the coin up and sells when price turns back to the trigger.

That suits a coin with no obvious target. GMGN's data on 2 Nov 2026 lists Peace Coin as created that morning at 03:58 UTC and up 10,873% over 24 hours. A coin created that morning gives you no history to set a target from.

You still choose Tokens and Active, same as for Take Profit. Check the saved order in Limit Order Overview so you know what you set.

What happened to Dacity Coin after its peak?

Dacity Coin launched on Pump.fun on 11 Oct 2026. GMGN data on 2 Nov 2026 shows a market cap of $8,121,710 against GMGN's peak market cap field of $17,620,493.

The coin is still trading, at less than half of that peak, with $2,383,640 in 24-hour volume on the same GMGN list. The coin was created on 11 Oct 2026, 22 days before that pull, and the GMGN data does not date the peak.

A buyer who held without an exit watched a number that was once much higher. A buyer who chose an exit before the buy had already decided what to do about it.

Still trading is not an exit plan. A coin can sit far below its high for weeks, and your tokens sit with it.

Where each exit fails inside the Telegram trading bot

A Take Profit that never triggers is the plain failure, and it costs you the gain you were waiting for. If the coin tops out at +250% and your order sits at +300%, nothing sells and the position stays open.

A Trailing Stop Loss can fail the other way. A normal pullback in a coin that then keeps climbing can reach the trigger and sell your tokens before the next leg up.

Time is the quiet one. Once the Active period ends, the order is gone and the position has no exit attached.

Neither order reads the chart for you. Each acts only on the percentage and the time you typed in, so a wrong number gives you a wrong exit.

Open Pending Limit Orders before you walk away and confirm that the order you meant to set is still there.
