HONG KONG, HK / ACCESS Newswire / October 28, 2026 / Fotorgear announced Campix, a digital camera built around waist-level framing and a film-inspired shooting experience. Drawing on the tradition of looking down to compose a scene and winding on between photographs, Campix brings a hands-on photographic ritual to everyday life-without physical film or chemical processing. "Taking a photograph has become effortless, but we believe the experience itself still deserves attention," said Alan Lu, CEO of Fotorgear. "With Campix, we wanted to bring back the pleasure of looking, composing and anticipating the result. It is a camera for anyone who wants to enjoy the process of capturing a moment."
The experience begins by opening the folding waist-level viewfinder and looking down into its display. Instead of raising a phone to eye level, users compose from a different perspective. After pressing the shutter, they turn the winding control to prepare the next photograph. Each digital roll holds up to 36 shots, encouraging users to consider the moments they want to keep before developing the roll digitally through the companion app.
That film-inspired approach extends to the images themselves. Campix's film simulation filters let users explore different moods: black and white for architectural lines and shadows, nostalgic tones for a family gathering, or a different color palette for a walk through the city. Choosing a look becomes part of imagining the photograph, connecting the camera's retro handling with the character of the finished image.
For those who want to make the look their own, the companion app also allows users to customize image parameters and import their own LUT files. RAW export provides additional flexibility for further editing.
Compact and lightweight, Campix is designed to accompany everyday outings. Its retro-inspired body pairs a metallic finish with textured wrapping, while a ⅓-inch image sensor, a 26mm-equivalent f/2.2 lens and a pop-up xenon flash provide its digital imaging foundation.
Five compatible Fotorgear lens options expand the possibilities: 8mm fisheye, 16mm wide-angle, 60mm portrait, 75mm macro and 1.55× anamorphic. From expressive fisheye perspectives and wider street scenes to portraits, close-up details and cinematic widescreen compositions, users can choose an approach that suits the moment.
By bringing together waist-level framing, tactile controls and film-inspired imagery, Campix invites users to rediscover familiar surroundings through a different photographic experience. To learn more, visit here.
