Williams Ups Southern Union Offer To $9.4 Billion

Williams Cos. increased its offer to acquire Southern Union Co. (NYSE: SUG) to approximately $9.4 billion to top the $5.1 billion bid from Energy Transfer Equity LP (NYSE: ETE). Shares of Southern Union climbed $1.88 to $43.48 while Energy Transfer stock slipped 78 cents to $44.00.
