Europe stocks eke out gain in thin volume

PARIS, Dec 22 (Reuters) - European stocks inched higher on Wednesday in holiday-thinned trade, extending their sharp December rally that has brought a key index back to levels not seen since the collapse of Lehman Brothers two years ago.
