Ascent Media Strengthens Global Operations Leadership With Two Key Additions

Ascent Media Group, LLC (Ascent Media) today announced it has appointed David Walters to Senior Vice President of Global Technical Operations and Infrastructure, and Eric Denna to Senior Vice President of Global Process Design. Walters and Denna will be based at Ascent’s Santa Monica offices and report directly to Douglas Parrish, EVP Operations.

Walters will be responsible for architecture and deployment of global infrastructure, specifically focusing on networks, content storage, and enterprise computing. Along with his team, Walters will ensure Ascent Media’s infrastructure properly supports the diverse needs of its businesses and operates with the highest availability and reliability, while maintaining optimal cost and reducing the overall use of resources.

Denna will lead Ascent Media’s Global Process Design team and help further streamline and simplify media service delivery by defining and implementing successful business processes, production workflows, and system tools that will allow the company to operate more cost-efficiently, at scale, and at an even-higher level of quality.

“The addition of David and Eric to our team greatly strengthens our global operations leadership,” said Douglas Parrish, EVP Operations of Ascent Media Group. “The combination of their expertise in information technology and business processes will be invaluable in implementing cost-efficient programs that will help further strengthen our global reach while reinforcing our commitment to best address our customers’ growing needs worldwide.”

Most recently, Walters served as Vice President of Technical Operations at Walt Disney Company’s Internet division where he was in charge of the engineering, building and ongoing management of hosting environments for Disney’s Internet services; ABC, ESPN, Online Parks and Resorts, and other Disney online branded products. Walters also worked with Microsoft in London, UK, and Redmond, WA, holding a variety of roles in product development, systems engineering and management. He was part of the early product development efforts for Microsoft’s Enterprise BackOffice Suite, and joined the MSN Product Development organization close to the inception of the commercial Internet.

Prior to Ascent Media, Denna worked with Ernst & Young, Price Waterhouse, and Coopers & Lybrand. He also served as Chief Information Officer for Times Mirror Corporation, for Brigham Young University, and for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was associate professor of information systems at BYU’s Marriott School of Management. Denna, who has written five books and several scholarly and professional articles on the strategic use of information technology, holds a PhD in Information Systems from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in information systems from BYU.
