Jacques Vincent proposed for election to Syngenta Board

Basel, Switzerland, 14 March 2005

Syngenta today announced that Jacques Vincent, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Danone Group, has been proposed as a new member of the Board of Directors of Syngenta. The election will take place at the Annual General Meeting, which will be held on 26 April 2005.

Jacques Vincent has been Vice Chairman and COO of the Danone Group, Paris, since 1998, where he began his career in 1970. Jacques Vincent is a graduate engineer of the Ecole Centrale, Paris, holds a Bachelor in Economics from Paris University and a Master of Science from Stanford University, USA.
