Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

West Bancorporation, Inc. (the "Company") is considering "early adoption" of Statement of Financial Standards No. 159 – The Fair Value Option for Financial Assets and Financial Liabilities. This new standard was issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board on February 15, 2007. According to FASB, the Standard’s objective is to reduce both complexity and accounting for financial instruments and the volatility in earnings caused by measuring related assets and liabilities differently. The Company has until April 30, 2007, to decide whether to adopt Standard No. 159 for fiscal year 2007. The Company will not release its first quarter 2007 earnings report until that decision has been made. The Company will make an announcement regarding its earnings release date and conference call once this issue has been decided.
