ITEM 8.01 OTHER EVENTS
On June 23, 2005, Edwards Lifesciences Corporation issued a press release
announcing that it had initiated a second clinical trial of EW-A-401 at Duke
University Medical Center for the treatment of critical limb ischemia, a symptom
of peripheral artery disease. EW-A-401 is a therapeutic compound developed by
Sangamo Biosciences, Inc designed to stimulate the growth of normal blood
vessels.
A copy of the press release issued by Edwards Lifesciences Corporation relating
to the clinical trial is filed as an exhibit to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
