(b) On December 14, 2017, David Apelian, M.D., Ph.D. delivered his resignation as Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer of Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the “Company”), effective December 28, 2017. Dr. Apelian is leaving the Company to pursue another professional opportunity. A retained search for a new Chief Medical Officer has been initiated with Russell Reynolds Associates.
