On January 26, 2009, Seattle Genetics, Inc. issued a press release announcing that SGN-35, an antibody-drug conjugate, has been granted orphan drug designation by the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) for the treatment of Hodgkin lymphoma and anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) and by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of ALCL. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
