On June 30, 2008, Weight Watchers International, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it received an adverse ruling from the U.K. Court of Appeal on June 25, 2008, with respect to the imposition of value added tax on meetings fees collected in the U.K. since April 1, 2005 by the Company’s subsidiary, Weight Watchers (UK) Limited. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
