Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

On November 10, 2015, American Campus Communities, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that Edward Lowenthal, a current member of the Board of Directors of the Company, was appointed as the independent, non-executive Chairman of the Board.  Mr. Lowenthal had served as acting non-executive Chairman of the Board since August 12, 2015.  A copy of the press release is included as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report.  Such press release is furnished pursuant to Item 7.01 and shall not be deemed "filed" for purposes of Section 18 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (the "Exchange Act"), or subject to the liabilities of that Section.  The information in this Current Report shall not be incorporated by reference in any filing under the Securities Act of 1933 or the Exchange Act, except as shall be expressly set forth by specific reference in such filing.
