Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.

American Public Education, Inc. received a request for information and documents from the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.  The Company understands that the request is one of thirty made to for-profit colleges in connection with the Committee’s review of matters related to for-profit colleges participating in Title IV programs.  The Company expects to respond appropriately to the Committee’s request.
