Revibes Founder Jack Charewicz, Growth-Hungry and Eyeing the Future as the 'Uber' of Reuse

Australian reusable packaging pioneer shifts focus to partnerships and investment as the business sets its sights on international markets.

-- In just under two years, Jack Charewicz has built Revibes into one of Australia's leading reusable packaging companies, a business that has quietly rewired how some of the country's biggest venues, festivals, and hospitality groups think about single-use waste.

Now, having recently stepped down from the CEO role, Charewicz is entering a new phase of the company's story. Rather than stepping back, he's locking in; shifting his attention away from the operational grind of day-to-day management and toward the bigger, slower-moving work of strategic investment, partnerships, and positioning Revibes for a genuine shot at global scale.

It's a deliberate pivot. Charewicz has always talked about Revibes in terms bigger than reusable cups, and this transition is the clearest signal yet that he intends to build something that looks less like a regional packaging supplier and more like category-defining infrastructure - the kind of business, he suggests, that could eventually do for reuse what Uber did for transport: not inventing the concept, but building the system that makes it work everywhere, at scale, without friction.

The current transition follows the departure of Andrew Macarthur from the company. Macarthur, who founded Clean Vibes, was one of the earliest believers in Revibes, investing in the business back when the entire premise, that large-scale reuse could actually function commercially and logistically, was still unproven. It was a bet made on conviction more than evidence, and one that ultimately paid off.

With Macarthur's departure, Charewicz now stands as the sole director of a company that counts Red Bull, Diageo, Untitled Group, and Melbourne Park among its client list, with a recent trial now underway with a Merivale venue, one of Australia's most recognizable hospitality groups. It's a client roster that reflects the trajectory Charewicz has been chasing since day one: not just sustainability-minded operators, but major commercial players who need reuse systems that can handle real volume without slowing anything down.

What makes the growth notable is the timeline. Revibes was only founded at the end of 2024, and in that short window has already secured multiple international clients and trial partnerships with some of the largest venue groups in the country. For a company barely two years old, that's an aggressive pace, and Charewicz doesn't pretend it's come without cost.

"To be honest, we've made more mistakes than successes, but from each one we learn, get better, and make sure it doesn't happen again," Charewicz said. "This is such a new industry, and I believe it needs to happen."

That admission is characteristic of how Charewicz talks about the business, less polished corporate messaging, more the language of someone building something from first principles in real time, in an industry with few existing playbooks to follow.

What separates Revibes from a simple reusable cup supplier is the scope of what it actually delivers. The company doesn't just hand venues a stack of durable cups and walk away; it runs the entire operational backbone required to make reuse viable: industrial washing facilities, logistics and distribution, custom branding, and on-the-ground support at events themselves.

That integrated model exists to solve a very specific problem that had, until now, kept large-scale reuse from taking off. Individual venues, festivals, and stadiums simply couldn't justify the capital investment required to build their own washing infrastructure, the commercial dishwashing capacity, the logistics network, and the staffing, just to support a reuse program.

Revibes built that infrastructure once, centrally, and now offers it as a service to anyone who needs it. In effect, the company absorbed the barrier to entry that had made reuse an impractical idea for most operators.

Charewicz didn't arrive at this business by accident. Before founding Revibes, he learned the reuse industry from the inside, leading Asia-Pacific operations for TURN, formerly known as Globelet, working alongside the company's founder, Ryan Everton. TURN was acquired by the European reuse company Vytal in 2024, and the role gave Charewicz an unusually broad view of what reuse looks like when it's operating at the highest commercial and cultural levels.

The position put him in rooms with entertainment giant Live Nation, with Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary's Sound Ventures, and with Starbucks during one of its California reuse pilot programs. It also put him at the front of genuine industry firsts: Charewicz led Australia's first-ever in-flight reuse system, developed with Bonza Airlines, alongside six additional flight trials conducted with Air New Zealand - early proof points for an idea that, at the time, had almost no precedent anywhere in commercial aviation.

TURN itself was eventually acquired in 2024 by a European reuse company, in the wake of the collapse of venture capital firm 777 Ventures - a moment of industry disruption that Charewicz read not as a setback, but as an opening. Rather than treating the acquisition as an endpoint, he saw it as a chance to continue building on the momentum he had already generated across the Australian and New Zealand markets, this time under his own banner.

"Working alongside companies and investors operating at that level changed the way I think about growth," Charewicz said. "It showed me that if you want to build something globally significant, you need to think globally from day one."

That experience clearly shaped the DNA of Revibes from its earliest days. Rather than positioning reuse purely as an environmental initiative, Charewicz built commercial infrastructure around it from the outset: washing systems designed for volume, logistics networks built for event-scale turnaround, proprietary technology, and partnerships forged directly with hospitality and entertainment companies who care as much about operational reliability as they do about waste reduction.

Untitled Group has joined the roster of sports and hospitality clients across Australian and New Zealand markets, and Revibes now regularly handles festivals and stadiums that move enough volume to make reuse not just environmentally sound, but genuinely economically viable.

To date, Revibes has stopped more than 600,000 single-use cups from hitting landfill through its reuse system, a number that points to just how much volume is already moving through its network of venues and events.

Beyond the operational story, Charewicz has also built a public profile that stands apart from the typical founder mould. Heavily tattooed, a single father of two, he's been unusually open about the personal cost of building a company while raising kids.

"I've never wanted to be the founder who sits behind a title," he said.

The next chapter puts Charewicz precisely where his career to date has been preparing him to sit: identifying acquisition targets, forging relationships with global partners, and raising the capital Revibes will need to operate meaningfully beyond Australia.

Revibes enters this next phase with a founder who spent years studying how companies scale through strategic capital and partnerships, and who now, for the first time, has both the infrastructure and the track record in place to apply those lessons himself.
