California Teen Center announces an intensive outpatient program for teens with ADHD in Yuba City, offering evidence-based treatment Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM with after-school sessions.

-- California Teen Center has expanded its teen intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Yuba City to provide structured mental health treatment for adolescents with ADHD and co-occurring behavioral health challenges. Designed for teens ages 12-17, the program combines evidence-based therapies with psychiatric oversight and family involvement to help address the everyday challenges associated with attention, executive functioning, and emotional regulation.

According to the CDC, approximately 15% of U.S. children and adolescents have been diagnosed with ADHD, making it one of the most common neurodevelopmental conditions affecting young people. As such, California Teen Center has expanded its Teen IOP services to provide families with structured adolescent mental health treatment that addresses ADHD alongside conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and school avoidance.

"ADHD often affects much more than attention alone," a spokesperson for California Teen Center said. "Many teens also struggle with organization, emotional regulation, planning, and maintaining success at school. A structured treatment program can help families better understand those challenges while providing evidence-based therapeutic support tailored to each adolescent's needs."

In addition to individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and psychiatric oversight, California Teen Center offers comprehensive ADHD evaluations using the Test of Variables of Attention (TOVA). When clinically appropriate, these evaluations can support documentation for individualized education programs (IEPs) or Section 504 accommodation plans, helping families better coordinate educational and mental health support.

California Teen Center is licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and accredited by The Joint Commission. The center also offers teen partial hospitalization programs (PHP), outpatient therapy, step-down support, and virtual IOP for eligible families throughout California.

It works with major insurance providers, including Anthem, Blue Shield of California, Carelon, and Aetna, and provides insurance verification assistance to help families better understand their coverage options.
