Aegon, Prudential plc report losses

Dutch insurer Aegon said Thursday that it will raise up to 1 billion euros ($1.42 billion) to repay some of its debt to the government, even as it swung to a loss in the latest quarter, while U.K. rival Prudential beat expectations thanks to strong U.S. sales.
